Congratulations to last week's winner!!
Past Weeks Winner's:
WHAT: The Silver Sneaker Award is an award given to one Physical Education class each week. The “silver sneaker” is a tennis shoe that has been spray-painted silver. This award serves as a trophy that the winning class gets to display in their room for the week.
WHO CAN WIN? Any class can win. The award will be given based on some or all of the following criteria:
-Class that earns the most Superstar Points
-Class that displays the best behavior
-Class that displays outstanding Sportsmanship, Courtesy, Safety, etc.
-Class that proved to be the best learners of the concepts studied that week (evidenced by listening, answering questions, following directions correctly, practicing skills and strategies well as a group)
-Class that showed kindness and compassion for others during the week
-Class that put forth the best effort during the week’s activities
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CLASS WINS? We will announce the winner of the Silver Sneaker Award each Monday, based on the past week’s performance. One class will be given the Silver Sneaker Award each week. The silver sneaker trophy will be taken to the winning classroom. The trophy will be displayed for the entire week in the winning classroom.
WHY? The Silver Sneaker Award supports positive behavior at Gorman Crossing. It encourages students to work together to use positive behavior, be good role models, and exemplify the type of learning that is desired in physical education class. It helps students to realize that positive behavior is expected throughout our school, not just in their own classroom, the playground, and lunchroom. It is a goal that the Silver Sneaker Award will also promote school pride!
